WWDC Leaks, New iPod, RIP 3D Touch? — MacRumors

One of Apple's busiest and most exciting weeks of the year is about to unfold at WWDC 2019 in San Jose. Apple will kick off its annual developer conference with a keynote on Monday at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, where it is expected to announce iOS 13, macOS 10.15, watchOS 6, and tvOS 13.

Ahead of the event, leaked screenshots have revealed both iOS 13's rumored Dark Mode and standalone Music and TV apps coming to the Mac, while recent trademark activity suggests that macOS 10.15 could be named macOS Mammoth or one of these options

Apple Expected to Remove 3D Touch From All 2019 iPhones in Favor of Haptic Touch
default.jpgIn a research note shared with MacRumors, a team of Barclays analysts have "confirmed" that 3D Touch "will be eliminated" in all 2019 iPhones, echoing an earlier report from The Wall Street Journal.

On the iPhone XR, Apple already replaced 3D Touch with Haptic Touch, which is simply a long press combined with haptic feedback from the Taptic Engine, and Haptic Touch will likely be expanded to all new iPhones in 2019.

2019 MacBook Pro Keyboard Has 'Subtle' Changes to Membrane Cover and Switches
default.jpgThe repair experts at iFixit have completed a teardown of the new 2019 MacBook Pro and discovered a "subtle change" made to the silicone membrane covering the problematic butterfly keyboard.

iFixit also found that the metal dome over each key switch is "subtly different" as well.

Hopefully these changes will reduce issues such as sticky and repeating keys that prompted Apple's repair program, which has been extended to any MacBook, MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro with a butterfly keyboard.

2020 iPhones May Have Full-Screen Touch ID, New iPhone SE Based on iPhone 8 Also Possible Next Year
