Apple Sends Out Media Invites for WWDC Keynote on June 3

Apple Registers Eleven New iPhone Models in Eurasian Database
default.jpgiPhone rumors were relatively quiet this week, but one of the clearest indications yet that new models are on the horizon came from Apple itself.

Like clockwork, Apple has filed 11 new iPhone model numbers with the Eurasian Economic Commission, as legally required for encrypted devices sold in Russia and select other countries.

These are most likely the 2019 versions of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max with rumored triple-lens rear cameras, and the next iPhone XR with an expected dual-lens rear camera. Other rumored features include two-way charging for AirPods and other accessories, frosted glass casing, and larger batteries.

Hands-On With the New 4K 23.7-Inch LG UltraFine Display
default.jpg Shortly after Apple removed LG's 21.5-inch UltraFine 4K and 27-inch UltraFine 5K displays from its online store, it has unexpectedly begun carrying a newer 23.7-inch UltraFine 4K Display.

Despite its larger display size, the new UltraFine 4K has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels compared to 4096 x 2304 pixels for the original. It also features two Thunderbolt 3 ports instead of a single Thunderbolt 3 port, making it possible to daisy chain two of these monitors together, plus three USB-C ports.

Samsung Rumored to Supply OLED Displays for 16-Inch MacBook Pro and Future iPad Pros
default.jpg A new rumor claims that Samsung is in talks with Apple about supplying OLED displays for an all-new 16-inch MacBook Pro and future iPad Pro models.

We first heard about a potential 16-inch to 16.5-inch MacBook Pro from well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said the notebook will launch at some point in 2019 with an "all-new design."

Details surrounding the rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro are still slim, but given the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar lineup was just refreshed, it is certainly possible the notebook won't be unveiled until the fall at the earliest.

This included a stage with a rainbow arch within the inner circle of the main spaceship-like building, where pop star Lady Gaga performed for Apple employees last Friday, and rainbow-colored stairs, walkways, coffee cups, and more.

Apple Said to Have Made 'Serious Bid' to Acquire Tesla Around 2013
default.jpgAn analyst this week suggested that Apple made a "serious bid" for electric vehicle maker Tesla around 2013, offering around $240 per share, equivalent to at least $27.4 billion at the time.

"I don't know if it got to a formal paperwork stage, but I know from multiple different sources that this was very credible," the analyst said.

It has long been rumored that Apple plans to compete in the electric vehicle market in some capacity, ranging from supplying other automakers with underlying technologies to developing its own vehicle entirely, and acquiring Tesla certainly would have given its efforts a significant boost.
