New Notebooks and 10.5" iPad Pro at WWDC, iPhone 8 and iPad mini Rumors, Apple Park - MacRumors

We've been expecting an updated MacBook for a while now, but it looks like we're going to be seeing even more than that at WWDC next month, with Apple reportedly also introducing an updated MacBook Pro and possibly a new MacBook Air.

All three updates are expected to be relatively minor speed-bumped versions of the current models, particularly in the case of the MacBook Pro which is only just over six months old.

There's no word on any desktop Mac updates at WWDC, although Apple has said it has an iMac update in the works for later this year (likely in the fall), while a completely redesigned Mac Pro isn't due until after 2017.

Ming-Chi Kuo Says Apple Likely to Unveil 10.5" iPad Pro and Touchscreen Siri Smart Speaker at WWDC
Relatively reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously said there is a greater than 50 percent chance Apple will show off its Siri smart speaker at WWDC next month, and now he says Apple's much-rumored 10.5-inch iPad Pro has a greater than 70 percent chance of appearing at the event.

Rumors on the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which is said to be roughly the same size as the current 9.7-inch model but with smaller bezels around the display, have been split on the timing for its introduction. Some rumors had suggested it could launch this spring, while others pointed toward a debut at WWDC or even in the fall, but it now looks like it could be coming soon.

iPhone 8 Predicted to Cost $999 For 128GB And $1,099 For 256GB, With No 32GB Model
iPhone 8 rumors are slowing down a bit in recent weeks, although this week saw one analyst report claiming Apple will likely offer only a 128 GB model at $999 and a 256 GB model at $1099, leaving the lower price points to more conservatively updated "iPhone 7s" models.

The pricing estimates are undoubtedly guesses, but it certainly seems like the design innovations and new technology rumored for the iPhone 8 could drive Apple's costs higher, and pricing is one way Apple can differentiate between the iPhone 8 and 7s models.

Apple Releases iOS 10.3.2 With Multiple Bug Fixes and Security Updates
After over a month of beta testing, Apple this week rolled out a series of operating system updates, led by iOS 10.3.2 and macOS 10.12.5. Apple also pushed out watchOS 3.2.2 and tvOS 10.2.1 to complete the set, with all four releases primarily focusing on bug fixes and security improvements.

Even with WWDC right around the corner where Apple will undoubtedly show off iOS 11, macOS 10.13, and more, the company is still moving ahead with new bug fix updates, as seen in a new round of betas including iOS 10.3.3 and macOS 10.12.6. Apple is unlikely to make any more significant feature updates, however, saving those for the major operating system updates previewed next month and released to the public in the fall.

Apple Rumored to Discontinue iPad Mini
The fate of the iPad mini has been up in the air for some time, with some reports suggesting it could get the "Pro" treatment seen on its larger 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch siblings, while others have suggested it could simply fade away as customers lean toward "Plus-sized" iPhones and larger-screened iPads. A new rumor comes down in the latter camp, claiming Apple will not be making any further updates to the iPad mini. The report's source is unclear, however, on whether the current iPad mini 4 will be discontinued entirely in the relatively near future or if Apple will continue to sell it for some time as a relatively low-cost option and for those who do prefer that size of tablet.
