Last week's media event included no news on the Mac front, which left a lot of Apple users still waiting for updates. According to a new report, Apple is planning to launch
new "ultra-thin" 13-inch and 15-inch notebooks by the end of the second quarter, meaning a launch at WWDC in June is likely. It's unclear exactly which notebook family the new machines will belong to, as they are said to resemble the Retina MacBook and be thinner than the MacBook Air, while the display sizes suggest MacBook Pro models.
One concept shows what a thinner MacBook Pro with a MacBook Air-like form factor might look like.
In other Mac notebook news, files in OS X 10.11.4 have been discovered making
reference to an "Early 2016" Retina MacBook that has yet to be released, suggesting we may see an update to that lineup before the end of April. Regardless of the exact timing, all of Apple's Macs are in need of updates, so we should be seeing a good number of announcements in the coming months.
