iPhone 7 Plus Said to Have 256GB Option and Larger 3,100 mAh Battery
Rumors about the iPhone 7 have continued to ramp up, and the one gaining the most attention over the past couple of weeks is a claim that the larger iPhone 7 Plus will include a 256 GB storage option and a 3,100 mAh battery that's larger than the one found in previous "Plus" models.

Other recent iPhone 7 rumors include our first part leak that arrived in the form of a display backlight assembly with some changes to the locations of the cables and the 3D touch chip, continued claims of no headphone jack included on the device, and word that the iPhone 7 may be waterproof and made of a new composite material to hide the antenna bands that have been prominent on recent designs.

Lenovo, LG and HP Introduce MacBook Lookalikes at CES 2016
The massive Consumer Electronics Show is taking place this week in Las Vegas, and as usual there's been no shortage of announcements from a wide variety of companies, even though Apple has once again opted not to participate in the festivities.

We've shared a bunch of announcements from CES, so make sure to check out all of our coverage, particularly the news from several PC vendors about their latest machines that in several cases bear surprisingly (or perhaps unsurprisingly) strong resemblance to Apple's Retina MacBook introduced last year.

60 Minutes Airs 'Inside Apple' Special Providing Close Look at Company
Leading into the Christmas week, weekly news magazine show 60 Minutes featured an inside look at Apple, with Charlie Rose interviewing Tim Cook and other executives to reveal some interesting tidbits of information. Among the key items were interviews with Jony Ive inside Apple's top-secret design studio and with Angela Ahrendts inside a mockup of Apple's latest retail store design. Cook also spoke forcefully about privacy and encryption, labor and human rights, and accusations of tax avoidance by Apple, which he referred to as "total political crap."

In one brief shot from a segment filmed in Apple's board room, some viewers thought they spotted an unreleased larger Retina MacBook or a slimmed-down Retina MacBook Pro sitting on a table, but Apple later confirmed the machine was merely the existing 12-inch MacBook.

AT&T to Stop Offering Two-Year Phone Contracts Starting January 8
After cutting off Apple and other resellers from offering two-year phone contracts last year, AT&T is now doing away almost all such contracts even at its own stores, forcing customers toward purchasing their phones either at full price or on an AT&T Next installment plan. The move is part of a larger trend in the industry toward decoupling device costs from service costs, but it has generated significant controversy from customers long used to subsidized upfront device pricing with the balance baked into their monthly service bills.

Class Action Lawsuit Accuses Apple of Crippling iPhone 4s With iOS 9 Update
Lawsuits frequently make for boring news stories, but a recent class action suit against Apple has generated quite a buzz by accusing Apple of crippling the iPhone 4s with the launch of iOS 9. According to the lawsuit, Apple advertised iOS 9 as bringing "faster performance" and other improvements but many users of older hardware like the iPhone 4s found their devices "slow and buggy" after the update with the only recourse being to spend hundreds of dollars on a new phone.
