Visit Sponsor Popular Stories Oct 04, 2018 iPhone XS Users Complain About Skin-Smoothing Selfie Camera iPhone XS users are also discussing the apparent skin-smoothing behavior seen in photos from the front camera on their devices, with some users suggesting Apple might be using a "beauty filter" to try to improve selfies. According to Sebastiaan de With, a developer behind the popular camera app Halide, there is no intentional beauty filter being applied, but the smoother look is a result of noise reduction and other techniques used in the iPhone XS camera such as automatically merging multiple exposures to create an "ideal" photo. We saw minor speed improvements for the new Series 4 compared to last year's Series 3, but massive gains compared to earlier models. That typically means a follow-up October event, so we took a look back at the history of these October events to predict when we might see one. The week of October 15 is a distinct possibility, with Tuesday, October 16 being the most likely day ahead of the October 19 iPhone XR pre-order launch.
