iPhone 6 Leak from Foxconn Details Dimensions of 4.7-Inch and 5.5-Inch Versions
It's just two more weeks until Apple's expected iPhone 6 media event, and leaks continue to surface, led this week by some claimed slides straight from Foxconn showing dimensions for both models of the iPhone 6. Notably, the slides show both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models having a slightly protruding ring around the rear camera. We've also seen the first legitimate-looking rear shell for the 5.5-inch model.

Other leaks include component schematics apparently showing options for up to 128 GB of storage on the iPhone 6, as well as a barometric pressure sensor. A separate leaked photo has been claimed to show a quick start card insert for the iPhone 6, but there are a number of issues suggesting it is fake.

Finally, the iPhone 6's display is gaining attention amid word that suppliers are "scrambling" to make up for lost time following a redesign of the display assembly. It's unclear, however, what kind of effect that will have on launch stocks. John Gruber has also taken a look at what resolutions the iPhone 6 might support, arguing for a 1334 x 750 Retina display on the smaller model and an even sharper 2208 x 1242 "3x" display on the larger model.

Apple to Launch 12.9-Inch iPad in Early 2015
Rumors of a larger 12.9-inch iPad informally dubbed the "iPad Pro" have been circulating for over a year, and Bloomberg is now reporting that the project is back on, with Apple targeting an early 2015 launch for the device. The rumors come as Apple is experiencing a slowdown in iPad sales, something CEO Tim Cook characterized as merely a "speed bump" seen in every product category. Cook noted that Apple "couldn't be happier" with the over 225 million iPad sales over the past four years, but the upcoming iPad Pro may be an indication the company is looking for something new to help jumpstart sales.

Apple Releases Second OS X Yosemite Public Beta, iTunes 12 Update
Following the release of the sixth developer preview of OS X Yosemite last week, Apple pushed out its first update to the public beta of the upcoming operating system. The launch also includes an updated build of iTunes 12, which will bring a new long for Apple's music software.

Apple had warned users the public beta of Yosemite would see fewer updates than the developer track, and it's clear the company is holding itself to that schedule. A public release of OS X Yosemite is expected around the October timeframe, perhaps alongside some updated Macs.

Image of Redesigned Apple USB Power Adapter Surfaces
Following reports of a new Lightning cable with a reversible USB connector, a photo has surfaced showing what is claimed to be a new power adapter for the iPhone. The adapter design appears essentially identical to that seen on the Australian version of the current adapter, but with the Type A prongs used in the United States and a number of other countries. According to one third-party vendor, Apple's new 2A adapter is ready to ship with the iPhone 6 to provide for faster charging, but the reversible USB Lightning cable is still in development.

iPhone 6 Shell and Display Shown Together, Lightning Cable with Reversible USB, OS X Yosemite Beta 6 - MacRumors

The clock is ticking as we head toward Apple's all-but-confirmed iPhone 6 media event on September 9, and the leaks are continuing. The latest photo set shows the front panel and rear shell of the iPhone 6 together for the first time, showing just how sleek the design is as the two parts fit together. We've also now seen the iPhone 6 display under a microscope with some new speculation on the device's resolution. Other iPhone 6 photo leaks from this week include closeups of the display assembly and other parts, as well as what looks to be a fully assembled logic board.

iPhone 6 batteries have also been in the news this week, including photos of a large battery reportedly for the 5.5-inch model and a smaller one for the 4.7-inch model. Finally, rumors from this week have pointed to sapphire displays perhaps being limited to high-end models, an NFC chip, and support for faster LTE-Advanced data networks.

Other recent leaks have included the front panel with display, the rear shell with protruding camera ring, and other minor parts including a new round "True Tone" camera flash. While much of the focus has been on iPhone 6 rumors, Apple is also expected to introduce new iPads before the end of the year. Unsurprisingly, Bloomberg reports production on the new iPad Air is already underway, with the new Retina iPad mini set to follow shortly. The report claims Apple is planning to use a new anti-reflective display coating on the iPad Air, which may result in  tight supplies as the kinks are worked out of that process. Otherwise, Touch ID is expected to be a major addition to the new iPads, and we may also see a few minor design tweaks.

Unreleased 'Mid 2014' Mac Mini and 27-inch iMac Models Spotted on Apple Support Page
Apple last week updated a support document outlining Boot Camp support for a variety of Mac models, and in the process added mentions for "Mid 2014" models of the Mac mini and 27-inch iMac that have not been released. While the additions, which were quickly removed, may have been an error, they did spark quite a bit of interest from those awaiting updates to Apple's desktop lineups. The Mac mini hasn't been updated since 2012, and while Apple did release a new low-cost 21.5-inch "Mid 2014" iMac in June, the remainder of the lineup was untouched.
