Apple Watch ECG Update, iPhone XR Sales, Access Your Locked-Out iPhone for $3,900 - MacRumors

Back in September at the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 4, Apple showed off a new feature that will let users take electrocardiograms (ECGs) right from their wrists, checking for irregularities in cardiac function. The feature wasn't quite ready for launch alongside the new Apple Watch, however, with Apple promising it would be available in the United States later in the year.

The ECG feature will require watchOS 5.1.2, which has been in beta testing for nearly a month but doesn't yet have the ECG capabilities activated. Apple's New iPhone XR Has Been the Most Popular and Best Selling iPhone Since October Launch
default.jpg Following reports that Apple has cut production of the iPhone XR due to lower-than-expected demand, Apple executive Greg Joswiak this week spoke out to say that the iPhone XR has outsold both the iPhone XS and XS Max every day since its launch last month.

Of course, that claim doesn't directly address whether Apple has cut production of the device or met internal sales targets, so we'll have to see how things go. With Apple no longer reporting unit sales in its earnings releases, there's a lot of uneasiness among investors.

Microsoft Neck-and-Neck With Apple for Title of Most Valuable U.S. Company
default.jpgWith Apple's stock price having dropped around 20 percent this month following concerns over the holiday quarter and Apple's decision to stop reporting unit sales, Microsoft has caught up with Apple in the standings of most valuable public U.S. companies. The two companies have been swapping back and forth for the top spot this week, with each company currently valued at around $850 billion.

Apple's stock price has also been weighed down by concerns that President Trump may impose a 10 percent tariff on iPhones and notebooks imported from China. Apple has so far escaped the Trump administration's Chinese tariffs, but it's unclear whether it'll be able to continue to do so.

DriveSavers Lets Consumers Retrieve Data From Locked iOS Devices for $3,900
default.jpg Locked out of your iPhone and Apple can't help you get in? If you're willing to pony up close to $4,000, DriveSavers says it can help by using a proprietary method to bypass passcode lockouts.

DriveSavers says it's the first company to offer such a solution to consumers, but it's going to be very strict about ensuring proper ownership of devices before unlocking them for customers. Apple Facing Class Action Lawsuit Over Lack of Filters in MacBooks and iMacs Causing Trapped Dust
