WWDC 2018 Announcements: iOS 12, macOS Mojave, watchOS 5, tvOS 12 - MacRumors

Apple today made a number of software-focused announcements at its WWDC 2018 keynote, including the unveiling of iOS 12, macOS Mojave, watchOS 5, and tvOS 12.

Apple Reveals iOS 12 With Digital Health Features, 'Screen Time' App, Group FaceTime, Memoji, and More
iOS 12, coming this fall, will include a number of new features and enhancements such as a new suite of digital health tools to help limit distractions and monitor how much you're using your devices.

Apple has also fully integrated the Workflow app it acquired several years ago, turning it into a new "Shortcuts" app that lets you group together actions from Apple and third-party apps into workflows and invoke them using Siri.

Other new features include Group FaceTime for up to 32 users simultaneously, new Animoji characters for iPhone X including personalized "Memojis," improvements to augmented reality experiences, and more.

Apple Announces macOS 10.14 Mojave, Featuring New Dark Mode, Desktop Stacks, a Redesigned Mac App Store, and More
As we suspected based on trademark filings we dug up a couple of weeks ago, Apple today revealed that the next version of macOS will be called Mojave. It brings an all-new dark mode, a redesigned Mac App Store, dynamic desktop wallpapers that change to match the time of day, and a new Desktop Stacks feature that automatically stacks up files of the same type.

Finder has a new Gallery view and an enhanced sidebar, while Quick View now lets you do more like rotate and crop images, mark up PDFs, and trim video and audio files. Apple is also bringing News, Stocks, Voice Memos, and Home apps from iOS to macOS for the first time.

Apple's watchOS 5 Adds Automatic Workout Detection, Walkie-Talkie, and More
Apple today introduced watchOS 5, which includes new features like automatic workout detection, activity competitions, and new yoga and hiking workouts.

The Apple Watch will also gain a new Walkie-Talkie app that lets users send quick push-to-talk messages to each other. Finally, watchOS 5 will bring a Podcasts app, an enhanced Siri watch face, and the ability for students at select universities to load their student IDs to enable building access, food and laundry payments, and more.

Apple Reveals tvOS 12 With Dolby Atmos Support for Apple TV 4K, Aerial Screensaver Updates, and More
tvOS was not to be left out at today's keynote, with Apple introducing features like Dolby Atmos support for the Apple TV 4K, which offers high-end immersive audio.

Other new features include "zero sign-on" provider authentication where you will automatically receive access to your package of content apps when connected to your bundled Internet provider's network and new Aerial screensavers filmed from the International Space Station.
